HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G Brings a Powerful 64MP Camera at ₹14,999
HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G
The HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G has officially launched in India with a focus on display quality, camera performance, battery life and AI features. The new smartphone brings a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, 64MP Sony camera and 6,000mAh battery to the affordable 5G segment.
HMD has also included Indus AI by Sarvam, an Indian-focused AI assistant that supports more than 22 Indian languages. The phone runs Android 16 and supports 33W wired charging, making it a considerable upgrade over the earlier Vibe 2 5G.
The HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G launched with an attractive starting offer of ₹14,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB + 128GB model was offered at ₹16,999. The regular prices are ₹15,999 and ₹17,999 respectively.
HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G Price and Availability
HMD has launched the smartphone in two configurations:
- 6GB + 128GB: ₹15,999 regular price
- 8GB + 128GB: ₹17,999 regular price
As part of the launch offer, the two variants were available for ₹14,999 and ₹16,999, respectively.
The phone is available in Aqua Green, Cosmic Purple and Silver Mist colour options. Sales are scheduled to begin on October 8, 2026, through Flipkart during the Big Billion Days period.
This pricing puts the phone directly against several smartphones in India’s ₹15,000 segment, where buyers increasingly expect 5G connectivity, high-refresh-rate displays and large batteries.
120Hz Full HD+ Display
One of the biggest upgrades on the HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G is its display.
The phone features a 6.78-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a resolution of 1080 × 2460 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The higher resolution should provide sharper text and images than the HD+ panel found on the standard Vibe 2 5G.
The 120Hz refresh rate is another useful addition at this price. It can make scrolling through websites, social media feeds and supported applications appear smoother.
The display uses a punch-hole design for the front camera and has a pixel density of around 396ppi according to current specifications.
For users who spend a lot of time watching videos or browsing social media, the combination of a large screen, Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate is one of the phone’s strongest features.
64MP Sony Camera Takes the Spotlight
Photography is another major focus of the Vibe 2 Pro 5G.
The rear camera system features a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary sensor, accompanied by a 2MP macro camera. The main sensor gives the phone a higher-resolution camera than many competing devices in the same price range.
The phone also has a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The front camera is a fixed-focus unit according to current specification listings.
The rear camera can record video at up to 1080p resolution. HMD has also included common camera features such as HDR and additional shooting modes.
The camera hardware gives the phone a clear advantage on paper, although the final image quality will depend on HMD’s image processing and lighting conditions rather than megapixel count alone.
Dimensity 6300 Powers the Phone
The HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a 6nm 5G chipset designed for affordable and mid-range smartphones.
The processor uses an octa-core CPU configuration with two performance cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and six efficiency cores running at up to 2GHz. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
The phone comes with 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Current listings also indicate support for expandable storage, although specifications can vary by market configuration.
For everyday tasks such as social media, streaming, web browsing and messaging, the Dimensity 6300 should provide a balanced experience. It also brings 5G connectivity, which remains an important feature for buyers looking for a phone that can stay relevant for several years.
6,000mAh Battery With 33W Charging
Battery life is another strong point.
The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery and supports 33W wired fast charging. That is a meaningful combination for users who spend long hours away from a charger.
The large battery should be particularly useful for activities such as video streaming, navigation, social media and mobile gaming.
Charging speeds are also faster than the 18W charging offered by the standard HMD Vibe 2 5G. This makes the Pro model more suitable for users who want both long battery endurance and reasonably quick top-ups.
As always, actual battery life will depend on display brightness, network conditions, applications and usage patterns.
Android 16 and Indus AI
The Vibe 2 Pro 5G ships with Android 16 out of the box. HMD says the phone will receive two years of security updates, according to current specification listings.
One of the more unusual additions is Indus AI, developed by Indian AI company Sarvam.
HMD says the assistant can support more than 22 Indian languages and is designed around India’s linguistic and cultural requirements. The feature gives the Vibe 2 Pro 5G a more India-focused software identity than many phones in the same segment.
HMD has also highlighted support for Sanchar Saathi, the Indian government’s mobile-security and fraud-reporting platform. The company says installation of the app is optional.
Design and Connectivity
The HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G weighs approximately 197 grams and measures 168.4mm in height. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports face unlock.
Connectivity includes 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, along with a USB Type-C port. The device supports dual SIM functionality, while current specification listings indicate that NFC is not included.
HMD has chosen a fairly straightforward design for the phone, with a raised square-shaped rear camera module housing the primary and macro cameras.
The three colour options — Aqua Green, Cosmic Purple and Silver Mist — give buyers some variety without moving too far away from the conventional smartphone design.
HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G vs Vibe 2 5G
The Vibe 2 Pro 5G is not simply a larger version of the standard Vibe 2 5G.
The Pro model upgrades several important areas. It moves from the standard phone’s HD+ display to FHD+ resolution, increases the main camera from 50MP to 64MP, upgrades charging from 18W to 33W, and uses a Dimensity 6300 platform.
The battery remains at 6,000mAh, but the faster charging makes the Pro version more convenient for heavier users.
This makes the Vibe 2 Pro 5G the more complete option for buyers who want better display sharpness, faster charging and a higher-resolution main camera without moving into a much more expensive price category.
HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G Performance and Gaming
The HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a 6nm 5G chipset designed to deliver reliable performance for everyday use while maintaining good power efficiency. Its octa-core CPU is well suited for tasks such as web browsing, social media, video streaming, messaging, online classes and general multitasking.
The 8GB RAM variant provides additional headroom for users who frequently switch between multiple applications. This can help maintain a smoother experience during everyday multitasking and reduce the need to reload apps frequently.
For gaming, the chipset is capable of handling casual and moderately demanding titles at appropriate graphics settings. However, the Vibe 2 Pro 5G is primarily designed as an affordable all-rounder rather than a dedicated gaming smartphone, so users seeking consistently high frame rates in graphics-intensive games may need to consider more powerful devices.
Graphics processing is handled by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, while the 120Hz display contributes to smoother scrolling, animations and supported gaming experiences. Overall, the combination of the Dimensity 6300, up to 8GB of RAM and a 120Hz display makes the Vibe 2 Pro 5G a capable choice for everyday performance and casual gaming in its price segment.
Should You Buy the HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G?
The HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G has a strong collection of features for its price.
Its FHD+ 120Hz display, 64MP Sony camera, 6,000mAh battery and 33W charging cover several areas that matter to everyday smartphone buyers. The Dimensity 6300 also provides 5G connectivity, while Android 16 keeps the software current at launch.
The addition of Indus AI is another interesting differentiator, especially for users who prefer interacting with an assistant in Indian languages.
However, buyers should also consider HMD’s relatively limited software-update commitment compared with some competitors. The phone is positioned primarily as an affordable everyday device rather than a long-term flagship replacement.
Overall, the HMD Vibe 2 Pro 5G looks like a strong upgrade in HMD’s affordable Vibe lineup. At its ₹14,999 introductory price, the combination of a Full HD+ 120Hz display, 64MP Sony camera, 6,000mAh battery and 5G connectivity makes it an interesting option for budget-conscious buyers.
