If you’ve ever shopped for affordable earbuds or Bluetooth speakers in India, you’ve probably come across Mivi. The Hyderabad-based consumer technology brand is now entering a much tougher arena: smartphones.

Mivi has confirmed that its first smartphone will be called the Mivi One 5G, with the phone set to launch in India on September 24, 2026. It will be sold through Flipkart and is expected to target the affordable 5G segment.

For a company better known for audio products, this is a major expansion. And Mivi isn’t entering the market without a strategy.

Mivi One 5G: What We Know So Far

Mivi has confirmed important details about its first smartphone. The Mivi One 5G will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G platform, although Mivi has not officially revealed the exact Snapdragon processor yet. The company has also confirmed Flipkart availability.

The smartphone is expected to be manufactured in Hyderabad, reinforcing Mivi’s focus on building technology in India. The company is working with Qualcomm, Flipkart and Google for the smartphone.

The design has already been teased, revealing an olive-green finish, flat sides, rounded corners and a vertically arranged rear camera module. The design gives the phone a premium appearance for its expected budget positioning.

Could It Be a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 Phone?

This is where it gets interesting. A Geekbench listing believed to belong to the Mivi One 5G reportedly shows a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, paired with 6GB of RAM and Android 16. The listing reportedly recorded 677 points in the single-core test and 1,490 in the multi-core test.

However, Mivi has only officially confirmed a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G chipset. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 should therefore be treated as leaked information until the company announces the processor.

If the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 does make it into the final phone, Mivi would be targeting everyday users rather than performance-focused flagship buyers. The platform should suit social media, streaming, browsing and casual gaming.

A Budget 5G Phone Under ₹15,000?

Price could be Mivi’s biggest weapon.

Industry reports expect the Mivi One 5G to launch in the sub-₹15,000 segment. At that price, it will face established brands that already have strong distribution and years of smartphone experience.

Mivi will therefore need to offer more than 5G connectivity. Buyers will look closely at the display, cameras, battery, software, storage and update policy. The company’s clean software approach could become an important differentiator if it delivers a less cluttered experience.

What About the Camera and Battery?

Several leaked specifications have already started circulating. Reports suggest the Mivi One 5G could feature a 50-megapixel primary camera, a dual-camera setup and a battery of around 6,000mAh. A 120Hz display has also been tipped.

But these specifications remain leaks rather than official announcements. Another specifications listing currently circulating online claims a 5,000mAh battery and 18W charging, showing that the specification picture is not completely settled.

Mivi is likely to reveal the final hardware details around the September 24 launch.

Mivi’s Biggest Advantage May Not Be the Specs

Mivi has spent years building a consumer electronics business around affordable audio products. The company says it has more than 500 service centres across India and pickup-and-drop support covering more than 19,000 PIN codes.

That could become valuable when entering smartphones. After-sales support is one of the biggest concerns when consumers consider a phone from a newer smartphone brand. Mivi can potentially use its existing service infrastructure to build confidence.

The company is also emphasizing its Made-in-India manufacturing identity, which could help distinguish the One 5G from the crowded field of competitors.

Can Mivi Challenge Smartphone Giants?

That’s the big question. India’s affordable smartphone market is already crowded with Xiaomi, Realme, Samsung, Motorola and other established names.

Mivi needs to give buyers a reason to take a chance on its first phone. A competitive price, Snapdragon 5G connectivity, clean software, strong battery life and dependable service could give the One 5G a genuine opening.

But the final price and specifications will determine whether it is truly competitive or simply an interesting first attempt.

The Mivi One 5G Is a Big Gamble
