Dell 14S Launched in India at ₹79,990 With Intel Core Series 3 Chips and 21-Hour Battery Claim
Dell has launched the new Dell 14S (2026) in India, expanding its laptop lineup with a lightweight 14-inch notebook designed for students, young professionals and everyday productivity users. Announced on November 3, the laptop starts at ₹79,990, inclusive of taxes, and features Intel Core Series 3 processors, an aluminium chassis and four colour options.
The new Dell 14S focuses on portability, battery life and everyday performance rather than high-end gaming or demanding professional workloads. It is available with Intel Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 processors, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of SSD storage, depending on configuration.
Another major highlight is its display selection. Buyers can choose between a 14-inch 1920 × 1200 panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and a sharper 2.8K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Dell also claims up to 21 hours of Netflix video streaming on a single charge.
At its starting price, the Dell 14S enters a competitive segment where buyers can also consider laptops from ASUS, Lenovo and Apple. Here is everything you need to know about its India price, configurations, specifications and features.
Dell 14S Price in India and Availability
The Dell 14S starts at ₹79,990 in India, including taxes. Dell is offering multiple configurations with different processors, memory and display options.
The reported configurations are:
| Variant | Processor | RAM | Storage | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Base | Intel Core 5 320 | 8GB | 512GB SSD | ₹79,990 |
| Mid-range | Intel Core 5 320 | 16GB | 512GB SSD | ₹1,09,990 |
| High-end | Intel Core 7 350 | 16GB | 512GB SSD | ₹1,39,990 |
The laptop is available through Dell’s official online store. The Linen colour is also available through Dell Exclusive Stores, large-format retail stores and e-commerce platforms. The remaining colours are expected to reach additional retail channels by the end of November 2026.
Launch Offers
Dell is offering introductory benefits to customers purchasing the new 14S:
- Instant credit card discounts of up to ₹10,000.
- Zero-down-payment financing options.
- Zero-interest payment schemes through eligible banks and NBFCs.
- One-year Accidental Damage Protection for ₹499.
These offers are subject to eligibility and applicable terms. Buyers should check the final checkout price and offer conditions before placing an order.
Dell 14S Design: Lightweight Aluminium Body in Four Colours
PORTABILITY AND DESIGN
The Dell 14S features an aluminium chassis designed to give the laptop a premium appearance while keeping its weight relatively low.
It measures approximately 13.5mm in thickness and weighs around 1.15kg in its starting configuration. This makes it suitable for people who regularly carry their laptops between home, college, offices and other locations.
Dell is offering the laptop in four colour options:
- Linen
- Dusty Rose
- Washed Denim
- Velvet Green
The colour selection is one of the more noticeable aspects of the new model. Instead of limiting buyers to traditional silver and grey finishes, Dell is offering softer and more distinctive colours.
The laptop also features a 180-degree hinge, a backlit keyboard and a spill-resistant keyboard design. These features are intended to make everyday use more convenient, particularly for students and professionals who frequently work in different environments.
The overall design suggests that Dell is targeting buyers who want a portable Windows laptop with a premium-looking finish rather than a bulky performance machine.
Dell 14S Display: 2K and 2.8K Options With Up to 120Hz Refresh Rate
The Dell 14S comes with a 14-inch display featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio. Dell offers two panel options depending on the configuration.
The base and mid-range variants feature a 1920 × 1200-pixel IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate and up to 300 nits of brightness.
The higher-end configuration gets a sharper 2880 × 1800-pixel panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 450 nits of brightness.
| Display feature | Base and mid-range | Higher-end |
|---|---|---|
| Screen size | 14 inches | 14 inches |
| Resolution | 1920 × 1200 | 2880 × 1800 |
| Panel | IPS | IPS |
| Refresh rate | 60Hz | 120Hz |
| Brightness | Up to 300 nits | Up to 450 nits |
| Aspect ratio | 16:10 | 16:10 |
The 16:10 aspect ratio provides additional vertical screen space compared with traditional 16:9 displays. This can be helpful when reading documents, browsing websites, editing spreadsheets or working with multiple windows.
The 120Hz option should also provide smoother scrolling and animations. However, buyers should remember that the higher-resolution display is available on the more expensive configuration.
For everyday office work, studying and browsing, the standard display should be sufficient. Users who regularly work with visual content or prefer sharper displays may find the 2.8K version more appealing.
Intel Core 5 and Core 7 Series 3 Processors
The Dell 14S is powered by Intel’s Core Series 3 processors, with buyers getting a choice between the Intel Core 5 320 and Intel Core 7 350.
Both processors feature six CPU cores and integrated Intel Graphics. They also include built-in Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for supported AI workloads.
The reported NPU performance is:
- Intel Core 5 320: Up to 16 TOPS.
- Intel Core 7 350: Up to 17 TOPS.
An NPU is a dedicated processor designed to handle certain artificial intelligence tasks more efficiently than relying entirely on the CPU or GPU.
This can be useful for compatible local AI features, background effects and other supported applications. However, the presence of an NPU does not automatically make every AI application faster.
The Dell 14S is primarily designed for everyday computing activities, including:
- Office applications and document editing.
- Web browsing and online research.
- Online meetings and video calls.
- Educational applications and assignments.
- Light photo editing and content-related work.
- General multitasking.
It is not positioned as a dedicated gaming laptop or a workstation for intensive video editing, 3D rendering and other demanding workloads.
Another important distinction is that its 16–17 TOPS NPU does not meet Microsoft’s 40-TOPS NPU requirement for Copilot+ PC classification. Buyers should not confuse having an AI-capable processor with meeting the full Copilot+ PC hardware requirements.
RAM and Storage: Up to 16GB LPDDR5X and 1TB SSD
The Dell 14S supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe SSD storage, depending on the configuration.
The starting model comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage, while higher-priced variants offer 16GB of memory.
One important consideration is that the LPDDR5X memory is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded later.
This makes the memory configuration particularly important when choosing a model.
The 8GB variant may be adequate for basic browsing, document editing and light everyday tasks. However, users who regularly keep several browser tabs and applications open may benefit from choosing the 16GB version.
For buyers planning to use the laptop for several years, the 16GB model is the safer option. The extra memory provides more room for multitasking and future software requirements.
Storage options also vary by configuration, so buyers should check the exact SSD capacity before ordering.
Battery Life: Dell Claims Up to 21 Hours of Streaming
Battery life is one of the major selling points of the Dell 14S.
The laptop is equipped with a 61.2Wh battery, and Dell claims it can deliver up to 21 hours of Netflix video streaming on a single charge.
The laptop supports charging through a 65W USB Type-C power adapter.
However, the advertised 21-hour figure should be understood as a manufacturer-tested streaming claim rather than a guarantee of everyday battery performance.
Actual battery life will depend on several factors, including:
- Screen brightness.
- Display resolution and refresh rate.
- Processor workload.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth usage.
- Background applications.
- Video streaming and multitasking habits.
People who primarily use their laptops for documents, browsing and online classes may get better endurance than users who regularly run demanding applications.
The battery capacity and lightweight design make the Dell 14S an interesting option for people who prioritise portability and longer unplugged usage. Independent testing will help determine how close its everyday performance comes to Dell’s advertised figure.
Ports and Connectivity
Despite its slim design, the Dell 14S includes several connectivity options for everyday use.
The available ports include:
- Two USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports.
- DisplayPort support through USB-C.
- USB-C Power Delivery.
- One HDMI 1.4 port.
- One universal audio jack.
For wireless connectivity, the laptop supports up to Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, depending on configuration.
It also includes a 2-megapixel camera, dual-array microphones and stereo speakers.
One limitation worth highlighting is the absence of a dedicated USB-A port in the reported port configuration. Users with older USB accessories may need a USB-C adapter or hub.
There is also no Thunderbolt support listed. This could matter for professionals who depend on high-speed external storage or advanced docking stations.
The HDMI 1.4 connection is another consideration for people planning to use external high-resolution monitors. Buyers who need higher refresh rates or advanced display connectivity should check the supported output specifications before purchasing.
Webcam, Speakers and Security Features
The Dell 14S includes a 2-megapixel camera for video calls and online meetings. Selected configurations also offer an optional RGB+IR camera for Windows Hello facial recognition.
The laptop features dual-array microphones for voice pickup during video calls.
For audio, Dell has included two 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. This should provide a suitable audio experience for video streaming, online classes, meetings and everyday entertainment.
The laptop also includes Windows Hello support on compatible configurations, along with Microsoft Pluton security technology.
These features make the Dell 14S suitable for users who regularly attend online meetings, work remotely or use their laptops for educational activities.

Dell 14S: What Buyers Should Know Before Purchasing
The Dell 14S has several attractive features, but its different configurations make the buying decision important.
The starting ₹79,990 model offers an Intel Core 5 processor, 8GB RAM and a standard 60Hz display. That may be sufficient for basic productivity, but the non-upgradable memory is a significant limitation.
The ₹1,09,990 version doubles the memory to 16GB while retaining the Core 5 processor and standard display. For users who want to keep the laptop for several years, this configuration may offer a more practical balance.
The ₹1,39,990 Core 7 version adds the higher-resolution 2.8K 120Hz display, but it enters a much more competitive premium laptop segment.
At that price, buyers should also compare laptops with OLED displays, higher memory capacities and more powerful processors before making a decision.
Expert Analysis
The Dell 14S combines a lightweight aluminium design, modern Intel Core Series 3 processors and a strong claimed battery life for everyday productivity.
However, the non-upgradable 8GB base model is a major limitation at ₹79,990.
The 16GB Core 5 configuration looks more practical, while the expensive Core 7 model faces competition from premium laptops with sharper displays.
For most buyers, choosing the right memory configuration matters more than simply selecting the highest processor.
The Dell 14S is worth considering if you want a lightweight Windows laptop for college, office work, browsing and everyday productivity.
Its aluminium construction, four colour options, 14-inch display and claimed battery life make it an attractive option for people who regularly travel with their laptops.
However, the base model’s 8GB soldered RAM is something buyers should think carefully about.
Consider the Dell 14S if:
- You want a lightweight laptop weighing around 1.15kg.
- You primarily use Windows applications for work or education.
- You prefer an aluminium chassis and multiple colour options.
- You need a portable laptop with a claimed long battery life.
- You want USB-C charging and modern wireless connectivity.
Consider alternatives if:
- You need 32GB or more RAM.
- You regularly edit 4K videos or work with 3D applications.
- You want an OLED display.
- You need Thunderbolt or a dedicated USB-A port.
- You want a laptop designed primarily for gaming.
For most everyday users, the 16GB Core 5 configuration is worth comparing with alternatives before purchasing. The base model is more affordable, but its 8GB non-upgradable memory could become restrictive over time.
Conclusion
The Dell 14S has officially arrived in India with a starting price of ₹79,990. Its lightweight aluminium construction, Intel Core Series 3 processors, 14-inch display options and claimed 21-hour streaming battery life make it an interesting addition to Dell’s laptop lineup.
The four colour options also give it a different appearance from many traditional productivity laptops.
However, the 8GB base configuration and lack of memory upgrades deserve attention. Buyers should carefully compare the three configurations instead of choosing only by processor name.
Overall, the Dell 14S is aimed at students and professionals looking for a portable everyday Windows laptop. Its actual value will depend on the configuration selected and how it performs in independent battery and performance tests.
