Motorola Signature 27 Unveiled With Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 & 200MP Camera
Motorola has revealed its new motorola signature 27, bringing Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon flagship platform, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera and a longer software-support commitment to its premium smartphone lineup.
The phone was unveiled at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2026 and becomes the second generation of Motorola’s Signature family. It also introduces Motorola’s new naming approach, using the final two digits of the upcoming year in the model name.
However, this is currently an unveiling rather than a full commercial launch. Motorola has not announced the final price, complete specifications or exact sale date. The company says the phone is expected to reach markets worldwide in 2026, while its US page points to November for additional information.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Powers the Signature 27
The biggest hardware announcement is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
Qualcomm introduced the chip alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 on September 22, 2026. Motorola’s Signature 27 is among the first announced smartphones using the Extreme platform. Qualcomm positions the chip around high-end performance, on-device AI, gaming, camera processing and connectivity.
Motorola is also using its ArcticMesh cooling system. The system combines diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh and a redesigned 3D vapor chamber. Motorola says the cooling system is 40% larger than the previous generation, with the goal of maintaining performance during demanding AI, gaming and video workloads.
200MP Periscope Camera Is the Main Camera Highlight
Photography is another major focus of the Signature 27.
The phone features a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, with Motorola highlighting its ability to capture distant subjects with high levels of detail. Motorola’s regional product pages also advertise Super Zoom Pro up to 100x using generative AI.
The primary camera uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 sensor. Motorola says its Video Enhancement Engine can analyze scenes in real time and adjust colour, exposure, highlights and shadows during recording.
The camera system also works with Qualcomm’s image-stabilization technology and 3.5-degree hardware OIS, according to Motorola.
Motorola has not yet published the complete specifications or functions of every camera opening shown on the phone, so the remaining camera details should not be treated as confirmed.
Audio by Bang & Olufsen Comes to Motorola
The Signature 27 is the first Motorola smartphone with Audio by Bang & Olufsen.
The partnership brings B&O audio expertise to the phone, with Motorola highlighting different sound modes designed for activities such as music, movies, gaming and podcasts.
This is part of Motorola’s broader attempt to position the Signature series as a premium hardware and design-focused smartphone family.
Premium Design With Two Distinct Finishes
Motorola has given the Signature 27 an aluminium body with contoured edges and a distinctive camera housing combining ceramic and brushed aluminium.
Two finishes have been announced:
- PANTONE Coal Smoke — Tactical Weave texture
- PANTONE Capulet Olive — brushed, textile-inspired finish
The company says the Tactical Weave finish takes inspiration from automotive engineering and sportswear, while the Capulet Olive option focuses more on a softer textile-inspired appearance.
Seven Years of Software and Security Updates
One of the clearest commitments Motorola has confirmed is seven years of OS upgrades and up to seven years of security updates, beginning from the global launch date.
Motorola notes that support can vary depending on market, network provider and model.
The longer support period represents a significant part of the Signature 27’s software story, although the phone’s actual update experience will only become clear after commercial availability.
Gemini and On-Device AI Features
Motorola is also integrating Google’s Gemini into the Signature 27.
Motorola says Gemini can assist with tasks and creative workflows, while Gemini Omni can turn prompts, photos or existing footage into videos. The phone also supports Google’s Lyria for generating music and custom soundtracks.
These capabilities are being presented alongside the Snapdragon platform’s on-device AI capabilities, although the exact availability of individual AI features can vary by market and language.
