If you’re planning to buy a new smartphone, you might want to wait a little longer. September 2026 is packed with new phone launches in India, with brands like Vivo, Samsung, POCO, Infinix, Apple and OPPO preparing new devices.

From huge batteries to flagship features and a possible foldable iPhone, here are eight phones worth watching.

Upcoming Mobiles September 2026

1. Vivo T5 5G

The Vivo T5 5G is expected to be one of the first major launches of the month. The phone is scheduled for September 2 and is expected to focus heavily on battery life and display quality.

Reports point to a large AMOLED display with a high refresh rate and a 7,050mAh battery, making it particularly interesting for users who spend long hours gaming, streaming or browsing.

2. Samsung Galaxy S26 FE

Samsung has already announced the Galaxy S26 FE, but Indian buyers will get their chance to purchase it in September. Samsung’s India website lists the sale starting September 18.

The phone comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Exynos 2500 processor, 4,900mAh battery and a triple-camera system featuring a 50MP main sensor and 3x telephoto camera. It also launches with One UI 9 and Galaxy AI features.

3. POCO X8 5G

POCO is going big on battery life with the POCO X8 5G. The phone will launch in India on September 4 at 12 PM, and POCO has confirmed a huge 9,000mAh battery.

It will support 67W charging and 22.5W reverse charging, while POCO claims up to 3.2 days of battery life. The phone will be sold through Flipkart.

4. POCO X8 Power 5G

The POCO X8 Power 5G could be the biggest battery surprise of September. It launches alongside the X8 on September 4 and packs a massive 10,000mAh battery.

POCO says the battery can provide up to 3.5 days of usage. It also supports 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging. For heavy users, travellers and gamers, this could be one of the most interesting phones to watch.

5. Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G+

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G+ is also confirmed for September 4 at 12 PM in India.

The phone features a 6.76-inch Full HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, along with Infinix’s Active Matrix Cube rear lighting system. It will be available through Flipkart.

Current specifications point to a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor and a 6,000mAh battery, although buyers should check the final India specifications at launch.

6. iPhone Ultra

Apple’s September event could be the biggest smartphone event of the month. The company has confirmed its event for September 9, where it is expected to introduce its next-generation iPhones.

The biggest attraction could be Apple’s first foldable iPhone, widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra. Apple hasn’t officially confirmed that name, but multiple reports expect the foldable device to debut at the event.

If you’re interested in buying a premium phone, it may be worth waiting until Apple’s event before making a decision.

7. Philips S7221

Philips is also making a return to the Indian smartphone market with the S7221.

The company’s official India website lists a 6.67-inch HD+ display, 64MP main camera and 5,700mAh battery. The phone is aimed more at buyers looking for a straightforward 5G smartphone rather than a flagship experience.

However, its exact launch timing and broader retail availability should be checked before buying.

8. OPPO F35 Series

The OPPO F35 series is another phone family to watch in September. Reports suggest OPPO is preparing the series for India around the end of August or early September.

The F35 is expected to target the mid-range segment, but the launch date and specifications are not officially confirmed yet. So, unlike the POCO and Infinix launches, buyers should treat the current F35 information as preliminary.

Should You Wait?

If you’re planning to upgrade your phone, September could be worth waiting for.

The POCO X8 and X8 Power are particularly interesting if battery life is your priority, while the Galaxy S26 FE offers a more premium Samsung experience with Galaxy AI and long-term software support.

And then there’s Apple. If the reported iPhone Ultra foldable becomes official on September 9, it could completely change the premium smartphone conversation.

So, unless you urgently need a new phone, waiting a few more days could give you many more options before you spend your money.
