Updated on October 5, 2026

The vivo V80 is set to enter the Indian market with a strong focus on camera performance, battery life, display quality and AI-powered features. vivo has officially confirmed that the smartphone will launch in India on October 6, 2026, and the company has already revealed most of its key hardware and software features.

The V80 stands out with a 7,200mAh battery, 90W FlashCharge, a 144Hz 1.5K OLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and ZEISS-backed cameras. It will also run Android 17 with OriginOS 7 and offer an IP68 and IP69 rating for improved resistance against dust and water.

1.5K OLED Display With 144Hz Refresh Rate

The vivo V80 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 2750 × 1260 resolution and support for refresh rates of up to 144Hz. vivo says the display can reach a local peak brightness of 5,000 nits, while its HBM brightness is rated at 1,800 nits.

The higher refresh rate should make scrolling, supported games and animations feel smoother. vivo is also highlighting features designed for comfortable viewing at night, including an ultra-low brightness mode that can reach 1 nit.

The screen supports a wide P3 colour gamut and can display up to 1.07 billion colours, making it one of the key upgrades of the V80.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Powers the Phone

Under the hood, the vivo V80 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Mobile Platform, built using a 4nm process. The octa-core chip uses a configuration of one core clocked at 2.8GHz, four cores at 2.4GHz and three cores at 1.8GHz.

For memory and storage, vivo’s India specifications currently list an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration, with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The phone also supports up to 16GB of extended RAM through software optimisation.

The combination should be suitable for everyday multitasking, social media, photography, streaming and demanding applications, although the V80 is positioned more around overall balance and imaging than flagship-level gaming performance.

    Triple ZEISS Camera Setup

Camera performance is one of the biggest highlights of the vivo V80.

The phone gets a 50MP ZEISS OIS main camera using the Sony LYTIA 700V sensor, paired with a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera based on the Sony IMX882 sensor. The telephoto camera supports 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation.

vivo is also promoting ZEISS portrait modes, including 85mm and 100mm Center-Stage Portrait options designed to create a more cinematic look.

For selfies and group shots, the V80 features a 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera with a 92-degree wide field of view, autofocus and 0.8x to 2x free zoom.

The phone also supports 4K cinematic video recording and 4K 60fps video recording, giving creators more flexibility when shooting videos for social media and other platforms.

Huge 7,200mAh Battery With 90W Charging

Battery life is another major strength of the V80. vivo has equipped the phone with a 7,200mAh typical battery, which the company describes as the largest battery in its V-Series smartphones in India. The rated capacity is 7,015mAh.

The battery is paired with 90W FlashCharge. vivo claims the phone can reach 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes when using the supported fast-charging mode and standard charger.

The company also highlights up to 39.5 hours of local video playback under its laboratory testing conditions. Real-world endurance will naturally depend on brightness, network usage, apps and other factors.

OriginOS 7 Based on Android 17

The vivo V80 will ship with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, making it one of the first V-Series phones in India to use the newer software generation.

The software experience includes AI-focused features such as Pet Pals, Snap Notes and Security Shield. Snap Notes can turn photos of handwritten notes or whiteboards into editable documents, while Security Shield is designed to help protect against scams and other digital threats.

vivo is also promising up to six years of security updates, which could make the V80 a more attractive option for buyers planning to keep the device for several years.

    Premium Design and IP68/IP69 Protection

    The vivo V80 uses a one-piece cold-carved glass design with a floating camera module. The phone weighs 203 grams and measures approximately 157.52 × 74.33 × 7.69mm.

It will be sold in three colours: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.

The smartphone also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings. vivo notes that water and dust resistance was tested under controlled laboratory conditions and may reduce over time with normal use.

vivo V80 Price and Availability in India

vivo has officially confirmed the V80’s October 6, 2026 launch in India, with the event scheduled for 12 PM. However, the company has not yet published the official India price on its product information page.

Several online reports have suggested prices around the ₹63,000 mark, but those figures should not be treated as final until vivo announces the retail price. This is especially important because unofficial listings and leaked pricing can change before launch.

What Makes the vivo V80 Different?

The V80 is built around a combination that is still relatively uncommon in its segment: a 7,200mAh battery, 90W charging, 144Hz 1.5K OLED display and a ZEISS-oriented camera system.

The dedicated telephoto camera gives the phone a stronger portrait and zoom focus, while the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 should provide a solid balance between performance and efficiency. OriginOS 7, Android 17 and the promised six years of security updates also add to its long-term appeal.

    Final Takeaway

The vivo V80 is shaping up to be a strong camera-focused smartphone with an unusually large battery and a high-end display. Its biggest attractions are the 7,200mAh battery, 90W FlashCharge, 144Hz 1.5K OLED screen, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and ZEISS camera system.

The remaining major detail is the official India price. Once vivo announces that figure at the October 6 launch, it will determine how competitive the V80 is against other premium smartphones in the Indian market.
