1. Two Display Sizes for Different Needs
The display is one of the biggest differences between the tablets.
The Iconia Tab 11 5G features a 10.95-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 1,920 × 1,200 pixels. It supports a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 450 nits of peak brightness.
The Iconia Tab 12 5G has a larger 12.2-inch IPS panel with a 2,400 × 1,600-pixel resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Its larger screen provides more room for reading documents, viewing presentations, taking notes and working with multiple windows.
Acer’s launch coverage also highlights the Tab 12’s fully laminated display, which can help make stylus interaction feel more direct by reducing the visible gap between the display surface and the image.
Neither tablet uses an OLED panel, based on the published specifications. Buyers who prioritise deep blacks and OLED contrast should keep that distinction in mind.
2. MediaTek MT8755 Processor and 8GB RAM
Both tablets use the MediaTek MT8755 octa-core processor. Published specifications describe two Arm Cortex-A76 cores running at up to 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at up to 2GHz.
Each model comes with 8GB of RAM and reported 128GB or 256GB storage options. A microSD card slot provides additional storage flexibility, although the maximum supported capacity should be checked against the exact model listing.
This hardware should suit routine tasks such as browsing, video streaming, document editing, online classes and everyday applications. However, processor specifications alone do not establish real-world performance. Users planning to play demanding games or run intensive creative applications should wait for independent performance tests.
3. 5G Connectivity for Use Beyond Wi-Fi
Both tablets support 5G connectivity, making them useful for people who need internet access away from home, college or office Wi-Fi networks.
Depending on the supported network bands, SIM configuration and local carrier coverage, users may be able to browse, attend video meetings and stream content using mobile data.
The tablets also support Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth and USB Type-C connectivity. Published launch specifications list Bluetooth 5.2, while Acer’s store listings may show different specifications for particular configurations. Check the exact product page for the model being purchased.
Remember that 5G performance depends on network coverage, signal strength, carrier compatibility and the user’s data plan.
4. Keyboard and Stylus Support for Productivity
Acer supports keyboard flip-cover and stylus accessories for both tablets. The keyboard accessory also offers docking support, allowing users to position the tablet in a more laptop-like setup.
For students, a compatible stylus can be useful for handwritten notes, marking up PDFs and sketching diagrams. A keyboard can make writing assignments, replying to emails and editing documents more comfortable than using the on-screen keyboard.
However, accessory support does not mean every accessory is included in the box. Check the selected bundle and retailer listing to determine whether the keyboard and stylus are sold separately or included with a particular offer.
These accessories can improve convenience, but they do not automatically provide the full software experience of a Windows laptop.
5. Camera Differences Between the Two Tablets
Both tablets have an 8MP front-facing camera for video calls and online classes.
The Iconia Tab 11 5G features a 13MP rear camera. The Iconia Tab 12 5G has a 16MP main rear camera accompanied by a 2MP macro camera.
These cameras can be useful for scanning documents, photographing notes and handling basic video calls. However, megapixel counts alone do not determine image quality. Sensor size, image processing, lighting and camera software also matter.
For most tablet buyers, the front camera and microphone experience may be more important than the rear camera because tablets are often used for meetings, studying and media consumption.
6. Battery Capacity: The Tab 12 Has the Clear Advantage on Paper
The Iconia Tab 12 5G includes a 10,000mAh battery and supports 18W charging, according to the published specifications.
That capacity gives the larger tablet a substantial battery specification for reading, watching videos and working away from a power outlet. Acer’s store listing claims up to 10 hours of video playback, although actual endurance will depend on brightness, network use, applications and other settings.
A confirmed battery capacity for the Iconia Tab 11 5G was not clearly established in the launch coverage reviewed for this article. It would therefore be misleading to declare a battery-life winner based on a direct capacity comparison.
If battery life is a priority, look for independent tests of screen-on time and video playback before making a final decision.
7. Which Acer Iconia Tablet Should You Choose?
The best choice depends on how much screen space you need and how you plan to use the tablet.
Choose the Acer Iconia Tab 11 5G if you prefer a more compact display for browsing, video calls, online classes and everyday entertainment. Its starting price is lower, and the Full HD+ screen has a higher published peak-brightness figure than the Tab 12’s launch specification.
Consider the Acer Iconia Tab 12 5G if you want a larger screen for reading, document work, multitasking and stylus-based note-taking. Its higher resolution and 10,000mAh battery are key advantages on paper, although real-world battery performance still needs testing.
Both tablets have similar core hardware, including the MT8755 processor, 8GB RAM and 5G connectivity. The screen size, display resolution, rear-camera configuration and battery specification are the main differences to weigh.
Acer Iconia Tab 11 5G and Tab 12 5G Key Points
Should You Buy the Acer Iconia Tab 11 5G or Tab 12 5G?
The Acer Iconia Tab 11 5G and Tab 12 5G offer practical features for people seeking a 5G-connected Android tablet without moving into a premium flagship category.
